Marketing and Events Manager

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and/or Communication.
• Events Management Certificate.
• Project Management qualification will be an added advantage.
• Registration with the Institute of Marketers will be advantageous.
• Minimum five (5) years relevant experience in marketing, communications and events management.
• Minimum three (3) years management experience.
• Knowledge of government and automotive sector stakeholder environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, media relations and brand management skills.

Duties

The incumbent will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing internal and external events; preparing and controlling event budgets; representing the organisation at events; coordinating event logistics and stakeholder participation; compiling event reports; driving brand awareness and corporate identity initiatives; managing the design, development and distribution of marketing and promotional material; coordinating internal and external newsletters; drafting articles, speeches, media statements and communication content; managing media relations and responding to media enquiries; monitoring and protecting the organisation’s reputation; implementing marketing and communication strategies to promote organisational products and services; supporting Executive Management with communication and stakeholder engagement activities; analysing media coverage and recommending corrective actions where necessary; managing departmental performance information and budgets; monitoring departmental activities and projects; and providing leadership, coaching, mentorship, performance management and development support to employees within the Marketing Department.
